Technical details

Fabric Technology & Construction
We built the Zella quilted jacket with a recycled polyester shell that balances durability and environmental responsibility. The diamond quilting pattern isn’t just aesthetic—it anchors the synthetic insulation in place, preventing cold spots and maintaining even warmth distribution across your core.
Stretch knit panels at the sides and underarms use a four-way stretch fabric blend that moves with your body during high reaches, twists, and dynamic movement. Our moisture-wicking interior lining features embedded silver ions that inhibit odor-causing bacteria, keeping the jacket fresh between washes. The water-resistant DWR coating on the outer shell beads away light precipitation, and you can reactivate it with low-heat tumble drying after each wash cycle.

Sizing & Fit Guide
Our quilted jacket runs true to size with an athletic fit that skims your body without restricting movement. We designed it to layer comfortably over base layers and sports bras while still fitting under shell jackets when temperatures drop.
Size Chart
XS fits sizes 0-2, chest 32-33″, waist 25-26″. S fits sizes 4-6, chest 34-35″, waist 27-28″. M fits sizes 8-10, chest 36-37″, waist 29-30″. L fits sizes 12-14, chest 38-40″, waist 31-33″. XL fits sizes 16-18, chest 41-43″, waist 34-36″. The jacket length measures 26″ from high point shoulder on size medium. Sleeve length runs 32″ on size medium with thumbholes that extend coverage over your hands during cold-weather workouts.
Care & Maintenance
Machine wash your Zella quilted jacket in cold water on a gentle cycle with like colors. We recommend using a mild detergent without fabric softener, which can break down the water-resistant coating and moisture-wicking properties over time.
Tumble dry on low heat to restore the loft of the insulation and reactivate the DWR finish. Avoid high heat, which can damage the stretch panels and cause the quilting to pucker. If your jacket loses water repellency after multiple washes, you can apply a spray-on DWR treatment following the product instructions. Store the jacket hung or packed in its storage pocket—avoid compressing it for extended periods, which can flatten the insulation permanently.

Questions About Your Zella Quilted Jacket
Our quilted jacket works best as a midlayer in winter or as outerwear in spring and fall temperatures between 40-60°F. The synthetic insulation provides core warmth without bulk, making it ideal for layering under heavier coats when temperatures drop below freezing.
For more extreme cold, we recommend pairing it with one of our down-insulated puffer jackets designed for winter weather. The quilted jacket excels during active pursuits where breathability matters as much as warmth.
Turn the jacket inside out and locate the interior pocket with the elastic loop. Fold the jacket in half lengthwise, then roll it tightly from the bottom hem toward the collar. Stuff the rolled jacket into the interior pocket, pulling the pocket inside out to encase the entire jacket.
Secure the bundle using the elastic loop attached to the pocket. The packed size measures approximately 8" x 6", small enough to fit in most gym bags, totes, or the outer pocket of a backpack.
The water-resistant DWR finish on our Zella quilted jacket repels light rain, mist, and snow, causing water to bead up and roll off the surface. It will keep you dry during short exposures to precipitation or drizzle.
For heavier rain or extended wet weather, we recommend wearing a fully waterproof shell over the jacket or choosing one of our dedicated rain jackets with sealed seams. You can refresh the water-resistant coating by tumble drying the jacket on low heat after washing.
Our quilted jacket features lighter synthetic insulation with stretch side panels, making it ideal for active pursuits and layering. It's less bulky and more packable, designed for temperatures between 40-60°F.
The puffer jacket uses 700-fill down insulation for maximum warmth in freezing conditions, with a fuller cut that accommodates thick base layers underneath. Choose the quilted jacket for higher-output activities and milder weather, or the puffer for stationary cold-weather activities and winter commuting.
Yes, our quilted jacket runs true to size with an athletic fit that follows your body's natural lines without excess fabric. We designed it to layer comfortably over base layers and sports bras while still allowing full range of motion.
If you prefer a roomier fit for thicker underlayers or a more relaxed silhouette, we recommend sizing up one size. Check our detailed size chart above for chest and waist measurements to find your perfect fit.
Machine wash the jacket in cold water on a gentle cycle using mild detergent without fabric softener. Fabric softener breaks down both the moisture-wicking properties and the water-resistant finish over time.
Tumble dry on low heat to restore the insulation's loft and reactivate the DWR coating. Avoid high heat, which can damage the stretch panels and cause the quilting to lose shape. The jacket typically dries within 45-60 minutes on low heat.
Absolutely. We designed this jacket specifically for active pursuits including running, hiking, and gym workouts. The four-way stretch panels at the sides and underarms prevent restriction during arm swing and dynamic movements.
The moisture-wicking interior lining pulls sweat away from your skin, and the lightweight insulation provides warmth without overheating during high-output activities. Many of our customers wear it for early morning runs in temperatures between 35-55°F, then pack it away once they've warmed up.
